CODE OF CONDUCT AND ECONOMIC VALUE
If properly managed, ecotourism for Mobula rays can lead to better conservation and sustainability of Mobula populations and contribute to the well-being of local people. In order to help environmental policy decision-makers to make well informed choices when balancing the needs of different stakeholders, we are researching the economic value of the tourist activities related to Mobulas on the Baja California Peninsula, in collaboration with ecotourism companies.
We have also developed a Code of Conduct for diving and snorkeling activities near the Munk’s Devil Ray (M. munkiana) to be used by tour operators and tourists.
